Our groups are focusing on different aspects. As below:
One of our groups has been given the opportunity to represent Howick Intermediate at the BP Challenge 2014. Their task is to create a toy for the Red Panda at Hamilton Zoo which encourages it to use its natural abilities, increase its activity, allow them to make choices and to create new experiences. The group have named themselves "The Red Pandas".
Another group is focusing on 'Environmental Threats' and have been named the"Anti-Poaching Department'.
The third group is focusing on 'Habitat' specifically 'Wetlands' and have been named 'The Water Striders'.
The last group, but not least is focusing on 'Endangered Animals'. They have chosen to save one of New Zealand's native birds known as Kakapo. They have called their group 'The Protectors'.
Each group is working towards their social action which will inventively raise awareness of their topic and help the community in some way. If you find there is some way in which you would like to help, please feel free to contact me.
